The Granadian poet Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca arrived in Madrid in 1919 and, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Lorca’s arrival in Madrid<\/strong>, the city wants to pay homage to such a marked date with an agenda full of activities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The cultural programming Lorca Madrid 2019<\/strong> that takes place throughout this year, contains very varied experiences, from major conferences to exhibitions and even a film marathon. However, it is in the theatre and in the music that the universal poet will be remembered for his work, as well as for his influential figure.<\/p>\n

Theatre programme Lorca Madrid 2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The theatrical work of Lorca significantly influenced the Spanish and Madrid collective identity since its first work was released in 1920, The Hex of the Butterfly (\u201cEl maleficio de la mariposa\u201d), in the Eslava Theater.<\/p>\n

The success of later performances such as \u201cBodas de sangre\u201d (1933) or \u201cYerma\u201d (1934) attest to the strong connection established by Madrid with the poet’s play not only then, but after his death.<\/p>\n

Now, the Madrilenian scenarios want to return the look to the Granadian through several creative proposals that deepen their life.<\/p>\n

    10, 11 and 13 March Lullabies at Teatros del Canal de Madrid<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u201cTeatralia\u201d, which will take place from March 8 to 31 in different areas of the city, has included in its program \u201cCanciones de cuna\u201d, a dramatized conference, with dance and singing, by Hugo P\u00e9rez de la Pica, which will be performed at \u201cTeatros del Canal\u201d on March 10, 11 and 13<\/p>\n

      From March 20 to April 7 Federico to Lorca in Teatros del Canal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca, co-production of \u201cLa Joven Compa\u00f1\u00eda\u201d and the Community of Madrid, will take place from March 20 to April 7 at \u201cTeatros del Canal\u201d. The work, with live music, will review the life of Lorca from his arrival at the \u201cResidencia de Estudiantes\u201d until his death, and he will do so through a large number of texts by the poet.<\/p>\n

        March 30 Lorca at The Night of the Madrid Theaters<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        On March 30, on the occasion of the celebration of Madrid’s Night of theaters, the Royal Mail House will host a tour of different theatrical and musical adaptations of the works of Lorca, including \u201cBodas de sangre\u201d or \u201cAmor de Don Perlimpl\u00edn con Belisa en su jard\u00edn\u201d. Cristina Rosenvinge will interpret Ballad of Silver, \u201cBodas de sangre\u201d and \u201cBernarda Alba\u201d.<\/p>\n

          April 26 exclusive previews of Lorca in The Night of the Books<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          The Night of the Books, on April 26, will also pay homage to Lorca through two exclusive previews: \u201cLunas de Nueva York\u201d and \u201cLuna Grande\u201d, a tango by Garc\u00eda Lorca; a sound fiction, a tribute concert and a \u201cHondo Encuentro\u201d, very deep, with flamenco figures such as Alberto Conejero, V\u00edctor Fern\u00e1ndez and Miguel Poveda. The events will happen in different parts of Madrid.<\/p>\n

            From May 3 to 5 Federico’s dream at Teatros del Canal<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            From May 3 to 5 there will be a continued tribute to the word of Lorca that will consist of 11 consecutive performances under the title Federico’s dream also in \u201cTeatros del Canal\u201d. The passes will be made from Friday to Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

              From November 15 to December 29 Lorca in the Autumn Festival and in Madrid in Dance<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  \u201cSuma Flamenca\u201d is not the only great musical event that surrenders to Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca, the International Festival of Sacred Art of the Community of Madrid will present, from March 7 to April 13, Theory and Duende game, eight concerts by Mar\u00eda Berasarte, Pepe Rivero, Paco Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez, Sole\u00e1 Morente, Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Llergo, the Tr\u00edo Arb\u00f3s and Rafael de Utrera, Rosa Torres-Pardo and Mar\u00eda Toledo with Lorca as protagonist.<\/p>\n

                  Conferences Year Lorca in Madrid 2019<\/strong><\/h2>\n

                  The female characters in the work of Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca. This is the theme that will address our latest proposal for a year full of Lorca art.<\/p>\n

                  These are two of the conferences that will be held in the Women in the Arts cycle and will be entitled: “Year Lorca: The role of women in the house of Bernarda Alba” and “Year Lorca: Female identity and motherhood in Yerma ” Both will take place on March 19 in the hall of the \u201cSala Alcal\u00e1, 31\u201d.<\/p>\n
